Working with Veterans who have served our country and community is important to the staff at Comfort Home Care. Our caregivers can help those who are veterans or those who are currently serving with services like dressing, bathing, meal prep, cleaning, or transportation. We have worked with many patients who need all different levels of care, so we can help create a schedule and plan that fits each patient’s needs. Veterans have given so much for our freedom and safety, so it is time for us to give back.

What Is Included In Home Care?

When you create a plan with Comfort Home Care, there are many different tasks that we can help with, depending on the elders’ needs. Some of our most popular services are helping a patient get dressed in the morning and undressed in the evening, preparing a meal plan that fits the patient’s dietary restrictions and provides essential nutrients, and helping immobile patients use the bathroom, shower, and groom themselves.

Other tasks can be completed by our caregivers to ensure more comfort and safety for the patients. Some of these services include:

  • Grocery shopping and preparing meals inside the home
  • Light cleaning (sweeping, mopping, or dusting)
  • Laundry
  • Physical exercises for physical therapy or rehab
  • Companionship and participation in hobbies
  • Technology help to keep elders in communication with their families
  • Transportation to medical appointments or to pick up medications

Aid For Those With PTSD, Anxiety, Dementia, and Other Mental Illnesses

Many Veterans struggle with mental illness such as PTSD, Anxiety, and Depression, which can be difficult to deal with as a family member. Our caregivers can help provide safety and reassurance for Veterans with these or other ailments. Flashbacks, worry, and isolation can cause seniors to feel overly stressed and experience a shortened lifespan. Physical and mental struggles can be hard to deal with as a senior adult, so having some additional support can make all the difference as an elders mind deteriorates. Having an in-home caregiver will provide peace of mind for family members while they are not able to be with their loved ones.

Comfort Home Care also provides specialty care for those with Alzheimer’s and Dementia patients as they can need more around the clock care. Depending on the patient, our caregivers can come to their home each day and provide a person to talk to, bathing services, and medication and meal reminders. Remembering to do simple tasks can be difficult for those with Alzheimer’s and Dementia, but our caregivers are there to provide needed assistance that can improve your loved ones quality of life.

Spouses Of Veterans

Those who are spouses of veterans may also be able to receive care through their VA benefits. While our caregivers can provide care to all different patient types, your care cost could be covered through the VA. Working through the VA for either you or your spouse can help you have long-term care at a more affordable price.

Honoring The Sacrifices Of Our Veterans

Our Comfort Home Care staff hopes to help seniors of all backgrounds have a better quality of life in their golden years, but especially those who have served our country. With all the sacrifice and strive that is required of those in the armed forces, they deserve the highest quality care and compassion. It is our mission to treat all of our patients like a member of our family, helping seniors feel safe and important.

You’ve got Questions, We’ve got Answers

Do VA Benefits Help Pay For In-Home Care?

The Veterans Association provides lots of benefits for Veterans and their families, including medical care. Many local VA locations will have doctors on site or have preferred agencies that they work with. Patients that receive VA benefits will need to consult with their doctor through the VA to know if they qualify for their insurance to cover the cost of in-home care.

Will You Work With Disabled Veterans?

Yes, Comfort Home Care will work for people with disabilities including Veterans. Those with disabilities may have excess needs that a family caregiver will not be able to provide. Moving or bathing an adult with disabilities can be difficult , so having an in-home care giver can limit the strain on you and keep your loved one safe. We are equipped to handle many different disabilities and all of their unique needs.
