Bringing Care to Your Doorstep

Comfort Home Care specializes in different care for elderly patients. We know that navigating aging loved ones and end of life care can be emotionally draining. Our team can help bridge the gap between living independently at home and assisted living facilities. Putting the care and safety of your loved one at the top of your list isn’t always possible, so we make sure you have the resources and physical help needed to ensure the safety of your loved one. We will treat every patient individually and with the utmost respect. From personal experience, our team knows that these services can make or break the last years of your loved one’s life. With skilled medical professionals, empathetic team members, and a passion for quality care, you can have peace of mind when hiring Comfort Home Care.

When a parent, grandparent, or other family member experiences injury or accident, other family members may start to worry about their competence. Living alone as an elder can often be scary, especially as our bodies start to deteriorate. Our personal care services are customized to each patient, helping them only with what they truly need. Keeping family safe, healthy, and independent is our goal.

Taking on the role of caregiver is an admirable thing, but it can get overwhelming. Respite care can help provide you with a much needed break or additional hands needed to complete daily tasks. Our respite care can be used as frequently or infrequently as you see fit. Taking care of yourself is the only way to provide better quality care to an elder.

Our team is passionate about providing care for those who have served our country. Veterans can receive compassionate care from us, no matter what branch they served in, how long their service was, or when they served. Many older veterans may have unique needs as they age, which Comfort Home Care is equipped to handle.

How Can I Plan For Senior Care?

Every patient and family will look different, but one of the first steps is to accept help. It is important to gather all important paperwork, insurance information, and prescriptions before meeting with a care facility. Patients should look into what insurance will cover or if they will be paying out of pocket for senior care. Family members can also ask the caregiver about how they will handle specific medical situations, falls, or stubborn patients. Comfort Home Care is here to help you through the planning process. You won’t have to go about this alone.

How Are Caregivers Selected For Patients?

During a consultation, we will get to know about your family and the patient. Our team will learn about their likes and dislikes, background, childhood, past career, hobbies, and regular routines. We will do our best to pair your loved one with a caregiver who can connect with and relate to them. Caregivers can be adjusted or changed if you are not happy with the one originally selected. If you have preferences on gender, age, or skill set, let us know during the consultation.

Who Pays For In-Home Care?

Comfort Home Care works with many different insurance plans to help make payments easier; however, we do not accept Medicaid. Some providers will have long-term care insurance that can help minimize out-of-pocket costs for family members. Government assistance of state-specific programs may be able to fund end-of-life care for your loved one. Depending on the services that are provided and how often a caregiver comes to the home, payments can range from $5,000 to $6,000 a month.

What Should I Look For In An In-Home Caregiver?

Once you understand your home care needs, looking for the right care company or personal caregiver is the next big step. You will want a caregiver who is passionate about their job and can connect well with your loved one. Some qualities that are important to look for are:

  • Humor or personality
  • Good communication
  • Compassion
  • Good time management
  • Empathetic
  • Past caregiving experience
  • Patience
  • Physical strength or capabilities to move patients
  • Adaptability
Does Seeking Professional Help Mean I’m Letting My Loved One Down?

We know it can be hard to relinquish control of your loved one’s care, put them in a home, or seek additional help. Seeking professional help does not mean you are abandoning your loved one. Working with a professional and medical provider can help your loved one have a more comfortable life going forward. If you are a primary caregiver, having additional hands can help save you from mental struggles and burnout. Comfort Home Care is here to assist and be a friend to our patients, not to take your place.
