Blackfoot Idaho Home Care Service

Most elders start to lose their balance, hearing, depth perception, and eyesight, which can be cause for concern. Our personal care services can help patients with daily tasks where they may have shortcomings. Our team can help with appointments, medication distribution, feeding, bathing, and much more. Personal care services encompass all you and your loved one could ever need, including companionship to ward off loneliness.

Those needing a more flexible option should choose respite care. Respite care can help give you peace of mind when your schedule doesn’t allow you to be near your loved one. For a family that is providing all the care themselves, respite care can provide some much-needed space and relaxation. Caregiver burnout is a real issue, so avoid becoming bitter or mentally drained by hiring a caregiver from Comfort Home Care.

Locally Owned & Operated

Not everyone will need long-term care as they age. In fact, some patients only need assistance with a few tasks. Our short-term care options can be used for those with a recent medical condition, for fairly independent patients, or those who have a full-time family caregiver.

Those with advanced medical conditions, frequent falls, or limited mobility will benefit from long-term care. Our providers can help with all kinds of tasks, including those you may feel are too mundane. Laundry, feeding, transportation, bathing, dressing, and even light cleaning can be done by our caregivers daily.

Each patient gets a customized plan that will fit their needs, personality, and schedule of the family. Our caregivers can come as often or infrequently as you would like, making it easier on family members who have jobs and families to tend to as well. Personalized plans make it easy for you to adjust care as the elder’s needs change, too. Our team works with your family to devise a care plan that fits all of your needs.

You’ve got Questions, We’ve got Answers

Do You Work With A Patient That Is Refusing Help?

It can be hard for us to accept help, especially as we lose our independence or ability to do things we used to do on our own. When a patient is stubborn and refuses care, it can be difficult to keep them safe. Our team will do our best to help your loved one, build trust, offer choices on how care is provided, and help boost their confidence. While the ultimate goal of caregiving is to limit strain on the patient, some may take a little convincing to let someone take over completely. We can start off with smaller tasks and limited appointments until the patient is more relaxed and comfortable with our team.

Can You Provide Care For Conditions Like Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Or Stroke Recovery?

Yes, Comfort Home Care provides specialized care for patients with Alzheimer’s, Dementia, stroke, or heart attack recovery, or mental health issues. Our caregivers can help aid those with memory loss and brain fog by helping set reminders for them or limiting the decisions they need to make. Our team can also help keep the space tidy to limit overwhelm and tripping hazards that come from these special conditions.

How Do I Know If My Loved One Needs In-Home Care?

There are some warning signs that will come before you need to seek in-home care. When you notice more of these signs, it can be beneficial to start looking at help options like a caregiver. Here are some signs you can look for to help you know if your parent or grandparent can benefit from an in-home caregiver.

  • Changes in mood or irritability
  • Decreased mobility and agility
  • Family is unable to be around frequently or live in the home with the elder
  • Increase confusion
  • Forgettfulness
  • More frequent doctor’s appointments
  • Frequent falls or trips
  • Difficulty getting ready or toileting
  • Resistance to activities or leaving the home
  • Wandering away from home
  • Upcoming or recent surgery
What Does In-Home Care Not Provide?

Most in-home caregivers will provide medication administration, transportation, and companionship. However, home health providers will not perform medical procedures, medical site care, deep cleaning, managing mail or bills, or care that they are not licensed to provide (mental health or occupational therapy).

What If My Loved One’s Needs Change?

As time progresses, your loved one may need to change the services provided by our team. They may heal from a surgery or fall and need less help, or their condition may worsen and they need more one-on-one care. Comfort Home Care can meet with you annually to discuss how services are going and the condition of the patient. Our personalized plans allow us to have some flexibility in providing assistance and to change them as time goes on. If your needs change or another caregiver is going out of town, we can adjust provider times to help accommodate for them.
